Before You Start Potty Training
So you finally made the decision to start potty training your child. This is a very big change for your child. During the all process you must remember that this is a practice that needs lots of paitence.
I don’t believe that there is a certain age you need to wait for to start potty training your child. The only one you need to make sure that is ready to the process is you. Trust me, your child has been ready a long time ago.
Getting ready for the big day
Up till now your child was use to do his business in the diapers when ever s/he felt like. Asking them to change all of that in one day, can be stressful. Saying goodbye to dippers needs to be gradual:
- Explain to your child about what it is that’s going to happen
- Take the diaper out for an half of an hour at start and make it longer each day.
- Be patience every time they misses and remind them to go to the potty.
- After a few days let them be incharge and to notice when they need to go
- No matter what you do, once you start potty training, don’t go back to the diapers. It might confuse them
